‘Global Alliance’ makes four scholarships for the Executive MScom Program available

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management has announced the sponsorship of four scholarships to assist international participants at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI)'s Master of Science in Communication Management (MScom) program for the fourth year in a row...

The scholarships are part of the Global Alliance's commitment to educational programs that support its institutional goals. "The Global Alliance recognizes that communication professionals today need to be thoroughly international in their outlook and training," said John Paluszek, newly elected Chairman of the Global Alliance. "This cooperation is in line with the GA's strategic goals of enhancing the public relations profession and its practitioners through education and networking. The scholarships will make it possible for more participants from outside Switzerland to benefit from MScom's excellent and highly reputed international program contents and its multinational faculty.

The four Global Alliance scholarships, based on financial need, are available to applicants who do not anticipate receiving employer assistance in funding their executive education. Each scholarship totals CHF 23,000 (EUR 15,282), half of the tuition for MScom, and will be deducted from the total fee for the program. The scholarship application deadline is October 31, 2009. A joint Global Alliance-MScom group will define qualitative criteria for the assignment of the scholarships and these will be made public through the two organization's websites.

MScom Managing Director Nina Volles said that difficult economic times are an opportunity for professional communicators to invest in their own professional growth. "We realize that financing continuing education during an economic downturn can be a concern. This is why we are delighted that the Global Alliance is offering the scholarships."
