Lugano, January 18, 2010 - The Global Alliance occasionally reaches out well beyond its membership as a correspondent with organizations that profess to advance the public relations profession and its ideals even though the organizations may not currently be within the Global Alliance perimeter of belief, practice and requirements.

Following the just ended 5th International Symposium of Public Relations in Tehran, GA Chair, John Paluszek reiterated the GA's outreach efforts in saying, "This outreach, as in the recent case with the Iranian Public Relations Society, is not a discussion of GA membership, but rather an effort to find common interests among public relations professionals who practice in very disparate, and even disputing, societies."

At the Tehran symposium was, Prof. Dr. Serra Görpe, Board Member of Turkish Public Relations Association (TUHID), a current member of the GA. Prof. Görpe is also professor of public relations at Istanbul University, School of Communication.
