2014 World Public Relations Forum presented today in Milan at Ferpi’s HQ
José Manuel Velasco, President of Dircom, officially presented today the 2014 World Public Relations Forum in Milan to the Italian delegates of FERPI, the Italian federation of public relations.
The presentation started with a focus on the program of the Forum, which will open on Sunday, September 21 2014 with the Research Colloquium, the academic conference where researchers, students, educators and academics will gather for a day of discussion around the theme of communication with conscience, responsibility and transparency.
The business program will follow on September 22 and 23 and it will focus on four key areas:
- Deconstructing communication
- Transforming communication
- Leadership through communication
- Taking action through communication with conscience
The President of Dircom also presented the recently announced first confirmed speakers, which include Marisa Toro, Google Communications and Public Affairs Director for Southern Europe, Martina Gmür, Executive Director and Coordinator of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Councils, Antonin Léonard, founder of OurShare, e Sinan Cem Şahin, Director of Corporate Communication at TTnet.
The theme of leadership through communication is at the center of the session conducted by Paul Holmes, Director of The Holmes Report, CEO of The Holmes Group and author of public relations reports in the last 25 years, while Paul Druckman, CEO at International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and Sarah Nolleth, Accounting Director for Project Sustainability at A4S, will lead the discussion on how to manage sustainable organizations. During his speech José Manuel Velasco highlighted that “the World Public Relations Forum is a unique opportunity for public relations and communication management professionals from all over the world to actively participate to the shaping of the future of the profession”. “At the World Public Relations Forum in Madrid delegates will analyse the role of communication in today’s society and will work on the definition of a new model of leadership with communication at its heart” he added.
