Aberje holds the 2nd Brazilian Corporate Communications Day in New York
In order to unveil best practices in Brazilian Corporate Communications, Aberje - Brazilian Association for Corporate Communications - is holding the 2nd Brazilian Corporate Communications Day in New York in partnership with the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications of Syracuse University and the Arthur W. Page Society. The event will bring together the press, opinion makers, managers and vice-presidents of the main North American companies in order to learn and further their knowledge about the strategies and communication practices developed by Brazilian Companies that have a global presence.
On this occasion, Paulo Nassar, General Director of Aberje and a Professor, Ph.D. at ECA-SP and Maria Russel, Professor at Syracuse University, will welcome the guests. Sérgio Giacomo, Corporate Communications Director at Vale, will then present Vale's Corporate Communication Globalization program. The event will continue with Alexandre Pinheiro, Director of CDN Internacional and Dario Cutin, Senior Vice President of Fleishman-Hillard, who will present the work they have been carrying out since 2009 for the Secretariat for Social Communication of the Presidency of Brazil (SECOM). The project scope includes a public relations plan to promote and divulge the image of Brazil abroad and to reinforce its positioning internationally.
The event is sponsored by Petrobras and Vale, and will allow for the exchange of knowledge and the development of professional relationships between those who are present. It will also promote Brazil in North American territory by means of the exposure of excellence practices related to corporate communication.
"At this moment, while Brazil reaches the 7th position in the world economy, Aberje is working hard to integrate the Brazilian elite of corporate communication with the elites of major global cities, such as New York, London, Milan, Paris and Shanghai, with the objective of showing the global community of corporate communication that Brazilian communication professionals perform in the design of corporate policies at companies and institutions, and not only at an operational level as was believed until now" affirms Paulo Nassar.

About the 1st Brazilian Communications Day
The 1st Brazilian Corporate Communications Day took place on April 7th, 2010, at Lubin - House Syracuse University and was conducted by the General Director of Aberje and Professor at ECA-USP, Paulo Nassar (Ph.D). The event provided the executives, press representatives and opinion makers that were present with speeches by the Director of Corporate Issues and Government Relations of Natura, and President of the Deliberative Council of Aberje, Rodolfo Guttilla and by the Director of International Communication of Petrobras, Izeusse Braga. The Manager of Corporate Planning for Petrobras and Vice President of the Deliberative Council of Aberje, Eraldo Carneiro, was also present.
Founded in 1967, Aberje is a non-profit organization that has as its main purpose the discussion and promotion of corporate and organizational communication in a global and local perspective as an administrative, political, cultural and symbolic function for the strategic management of organizations and for the strengthening of citizenship. Its actions are centered around information, communication and relationship.
