On June 15th the Portuguese Association for Corporate Communication (APCE) held its 19th Annual Grand Prix Gala to celebrate the Excellence in communication management and public relations in a ceremony that joined more than 150 professionals.

The APCE Grand Prix aims to distinguish and recognize the best practices and the growing professionalism that the communication managers and technicians have demonstrated in projects in their organizations, proving that this community of communicators is now considered a strategic component and part inseparable from the success of business in their organisations.

This year 119 projects entered the 21 categories of the APCE Grand Prix competition, rated by independent judges. All the members of APCE elected, by electronic vote, once again, the Communicator of the Year: Ana Fontoura.

In this year Grand Prix Gala, APCE’s Board had a special intervention, distinguishing with a Career Diploma, António Monteiro, spokesman and public relations manager of TAP Portugal (national airline company) for his contributions to the profession along the last decades. This is only the 5th Career Diploma that APCE assigns in 19 years of Grand Prix.

Eduardo Guedes de Oliveira, Chair of APCE said: “Our winners demonstrate excellence in its professional practice and with this ceremony they can share the best practices with other professionals, which is one of APCE’s main goals!”
