Australia: PR Directions 2011 - in gear for the future

September 21, 2011

Who owns which piece of the media and communications puzzle? This is just one of the many questions up for debate this October at PR Directions, this year's national conference of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA).  The question will form part of the ‘Communication Can of Worms' panel discussion featuring Michelle Hutton CEO Edelman Australia, Helen Belsy MD Rowland and Mark Paterson MD Currie Communications & President-elect of the Public Relations Global Network.

With an evolving market, the industry needs to adapt to a new reality where advertising, digital and marketing agencies all play roles in communication. At present though, public relations and communication professionals are fighting for a space that has traditionally been their turf and throughout the conference delegates will have access to the highest level of thought leadership and best practice examples in the industry. Speakers include Brian Solis, MaryLee Sachs and Lachlan Harris.

PRIA also wants to gather thoughts from around the world and welcomes discussion on how the future of public relations and communication management might look. Let PRIA know your thoughts over the coming weeks via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or by submitting a post for the PRIA blog.
