Barcelona to host next 2013 Euprera Congress
Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations of Ramon Llull University (Barcelona) will host the 2013 EUPRERA Congress from October 3rd to 5th.
This will be the 15th Annual Conference of the European Public Relations Education and Research Association and will count on researchers from all over the world. With the topic "Strategic Public Relations, Public Values, and Cultural Identity" the conference seeks to debate about social demands and values as well as the Public Relations' new role in helping organization to seek for legitimacy to act and influence opinion makers' agendas. In this sense the conference is organizing several panels on the following sub themes: new organizational structures to be aligned with social demands; the birth of new techniques to explain organizations in a more trustworthy way; the growing pressure by social groups that act as opinion leader against and for values, ideas and identities; and the coexistence of different agendas (public, media and political) depending on the means, fields or types of publics.
The conference will host 150 delegates and will include relevant keynote speakers as: Professors Robert Heath, who edited the Encyclopedia of Public Relations and the Handbook of Public Relations, Arvind Singhal of the University of Texas at El Paso, J. Gregory Payne of Emerson College, Brad Pick, Spanish Deputy General Manager of Edelman Spain and Jordi García Tabernero, Communication Director of Gas Natural Fenosa and resident of Dircom Catalunya. Beside the program will include several research group meetings and projects impulsed by Euprera, a Think Tank and tight social program to know the city and its culture.
