Communication Experts to Assess Digital-Society

June 10, 2010

The Forum, presented jointly by The Global Alliance For Public Relations and Communication Management and the Swedish Public Relations Society, will be held at the Clarion Sign Hotel, June 14th and 15th and will be webcast via www.wprf2010.se.

Dr. Schwab, who will present the distinguished capstone address, "A Post-Crisis Approach to Corporate Responsibility", has encapsulated his remarks in this advance:

"The recent crisis has raised many questions concerning the societal role of corporations and, in particular, financial institutions. In this respect, the relationship between business and society, as well as between finance and the real economy, is closely scrutinized. Social tensions have been accelerated as renewed payouts of unprecedented bonuses to top-level managers, particularly bankers, occur. Public relations have become even more crucial in this new situation, provided global and other issues are addressed in the framework of the common interest of all stakeholders."

The WPRF "will be long remembered", according to John Paluszek, chair of The Global Alliance: "In addition to providing interactive sessions among delegates and with keynote and "provocateur" presenters, the Forum will finalize development of ‘The Stockholm Accords', an articulation of the enhanced role of public relations in organizational and institutional success in the new value network society."

The "Accords" - in effect, a comprehensive re-statement of the contemporary public relations profession -- are expected to receive multi-year support by public relations leaders and organizations to promote the importance of dialogue, agreement, cooperation and social progress through two-way communication.

Background and details on the Forum as well as The Global Alliance and SPRA are available at www.wprf2010.se and www.globalalliancepr.org.
