Communication, People and Leadership at the heart of Helsinki Forum and Global Alliance AGM this June

March 20, 2013

Global Alliance and ProCom invite communicators throughout the world to join us in Helsinki, Finland at the regional GA Nordic, Baltic and Russian PR Leadership Forum on June 4. The Forum is being held in conjunction with the Global Alliance AGM and Procom Day, the annual meeting of Finnish communicators.

The theme of the Forum is Communication, People and Leadership. Distinguished speakers will be joining us from the Nordic countries, the Baltics and Russia. The Forum will provide a comprehensive picture of the challenges and opportunities facing leadership and communication today through discussions with CEOs, professors and communication and HR professionals.

Why the theme?

The theme of the Forum – communication, people and leadership – is currently considered highly important in Finland. The bunkers within an organization still stand strong and, in the worst scenarios, communications and HR may compete with one another forgetting the common goal: the organization's shared vision.

Last autumn Finnish communicators updated their Principles of Communication. The key findings in the process reinforced the perception that, in the future, aligning the goals of different organizational functions will play an increasingly significant role in the organization’s success. The key findings were the following:

Organizations are communicative by nature. The importance of responsible dialogue is growing. Sharing information and increasing participation are in focus.  Conventional communication barriers are disappearing.  It is becoming more and more difficult to draw the line between internal and external communication or between the various fields of publicity. New partners and new forms of collaboration are required.

During the Forum we will provide an understanding of why we need to put more focus on internal cooperation, why every CEO should have a public relations professional at their table, how to discuss strategy engaging in effective dialogue and how employee branding can be developed.

Come and experience the land of the Midnight Sun!

The Global Alliance AGM and the PR Leadership Forum will also provide an opportunity not merely to learn and network, but also to experience Helsinki, the empirical capital on the Baltic Sea with long days and nightless nights.

Come and meet your global peers and create a network for future cooperation!

Looking forward to seeing you in Helsinki in June!
