Consultation Draft of the International <IR> Framework: How to Get Involved Wherever You Are in the World
Between 16 April and 15 July the IIRC wants to hear your thoughts on the Consultation Draft of the International <IR> Framework.
The Consultation Period is kick starting with launches on 16 April in: Frankfurt, Johannesburg, London, New Delhi, New York, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto. These events will be held in venues such as the headquarters of NASDAQ, Bloomberg and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and with keynote speakers such as Michael Nobrega, President and CEO of OMERS, Erik Breen, Senior Vice President of Eumedion Head of the Responsible Investing department at Robeco, and Russell Picot, Group Chief Accounting Officer, HSBC. The prominence of these events is a great reflection of the eminence <IR> continues to garner.
In addition to the launch events, during the period up until 15 July, there will be numerous other events in which participants will be encouraged to think about the Consultation Draft and formulate their responses. Amongst the countries the IIRC have confirmed events in are: China, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey. The IIRC is encouraging organizations to host events in a variety of formats – from Roundtables, Media Events to Workshops, ranging from one hour long to a whole day of detailed discussion. If you think your business or network would benefit from holding an event, please get in touch with Sara Nori: Sara.Nori@theiirc.org.
Professor Mervyn King, IIRC Chairman, and Paul Druckman, IIRC CEO, will be visiting a variety of countries during the Consultation Period including: Australia, Singapore, Japan, China, Korea, US, Germany, Netherlands, South Africa and New Zealand. If you would like to attend an event, wherever possible we will try to facilitate this. Please do get in touch.
Although events are a good way for people to digest the Consultation Draft, you don’t have to attend an event in order to respond to the Consultation Draft. We would like to hear from all stakeholders. The Consultation Draft will be accompanied with a document entitled ‘Business Leaders: What You Need to Know’ which will give you an introduction to <IR> and why it is relevant to you. If you would like further background information, please feel free to email a member of the IIRC team.
The Consultation Draft of the International <IR> Framework will be officially released in English with formal translations available in: Arabic, Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese Russian and Spanish. These translations will be found on the IIRC website by the end of April: www.theiirc.org/consultationdraft2013. Responses to the Consultation Draft should be made in English.
We look forward to hearing from you!
