GA to hold the Member Global Credentials and Accreditation Summit and its 2014 Annual Meeting at its HQ in Lugano
The Global Alliance has convened a one and a half day Member Summit at its headquarters in Lugano, (Switzerland) on Saturday, 21 and Sunday, 22 June 2014 to discuss urgent and important developments in the area of credentials and accreditation. Senior leaders of GA members will join us and take an active part in this debate.
As part of its mission, the Global Alliance was established as a forum for building global standards, such as the global code of ethics achieved in 2003 and the standard core competencies framework for accreditation purposes. The opportunity now is to establish a new framework for credentials and a new standard process for the entire public relations and communication management profession in order to professionalize it.
For example, one potential area for exploration and discussion would be establishing a global task force that would investigate the feasibility of working towards ISO 17024, an international certification standard that could be used by all GA members to administer and award new credentials.
In this framework, the Member Summit offers GA members the opportunity to be active participants in this review process from the outset.
The summit will be followed by the Global Alliance’s 2014 Annual General Meeting to which all members are very welcome.
