GA Scholarship Application Deadline Approaches
The MScom program is a part-time, postgraduate program for experienced communications professionals. Courses are conducted in English over a 21-month period and classes are held every other month for seven consecutive days. Based at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, the MScom Program cooperates for a summer session at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, Los Angeles, one of the leading business schools in the US. An international faculty of more than 30 professors from renowned institutions around the world ensures the program's academic excellence and it‘s multinational orientation. http://www.mscom.usi.ch/.
The four Global Alliance scholarships, based on financial need, are available to applicants who do not anticipate receiving employer assistance in funding their executive education and furthermore, are a member of a GA member or affiliate association in their capacity as an individual or through their employer. Each scholarship totals CHF 23,000 (EUR 15,282), half of the tuition for MScom, and will be deducted from the total fee for the program. The scholarship application deadline is October 31, 2010. A joint Global Alliance-MScom group will define qualitative criteria for the assignment of the scholarships and these will be made public through the two organization's websites.
The scholarships are part of the Global Alliance's commitment to educational programs that support its institutional goals. "The Global Alliance recognizes that communication professionals today need to be thoroughly international in their outlook and training," said John Paluszek, Chairman of the Global Alliance. "This cooperation is in line with the GA's strategic goals of enhancing the public relations profession and its practitioners through education and networking. The scholarships will make it possible for more participants from outside Switzerland to benefit from MScom's excellent and highly reputed international program contents and its multinational faculty."
MScom11 student and GA Scholarship winner, Vivienne Rassearts, stated, "MScom is a different kind of learning experience. We get a real understanding because the professors use real-life examples of communications issues and invite classroom discussion. MScom is the best decision of my life."
