The Global Alliance awards five international scholarships for the Executive MSCom program

January 21, 2013

This week the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, the confederation of the world's major public relations and communication management associations and institutions, has awarded scholarships to five participants in the Executive Master of Science in Communications Management (EMSCom) at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI).

As part of its long-term strategic partnership with USI, one of Europe’s leading academic institutions focused on public relations and communication management, the Global Alliance provides annual scholarships to deserving EMSCom applicants living and working outside Switzerland.

Communication is changing the world, and so it’s more critical than ever that communicators have both leadership skills and global perspectives -- and USI is renowned for developing both in its graduates,” said Daniel Tisch, Chairman of the Global Alliance. “The Global Alliance is excited to welcome five new professionals from five countries to our growing community of scholars. We are confident they will contribute to our global mission to raise standards, share knowledge, strengthen our global professional community and practise public relations in the public interest.”

Scholarship recipients include:

Mr. Sauty Omar Timtey, Community and PR Officer, Ghana Manganese Co. Ltd, Ghana

Ms. Awele Okigbo, Senior Performance Monitor, Media and Communications, Presidential Task Force on Power, Nigeria

Ms. Ulrike Kelm, Communication and Media Expert, United Nations, Spain
