Lugano, Switzerland, August 28, 2013 - The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management published today a new study on the state of public relations in Sweden, the 25th in its ongoing ‘Landscapes’ series describing the way public relations is practiced in different countries and regions of the world.
The newly published study gives valuable overview and insights into the state of public relations practice in Sweden and provides useful context for public relations practice by summarizing Sweden’s political, economic and cultural systems. Sweden is a major economic force globally and renowned for its enlightened social structures. This is refelceted in the fact that the Swedish public relations professional body is the second largest in Europe and Scandinavia. The fast-growing public relations market offers significant opportunities for public relations practitioners, especially in the biggest growth areas of consumer goals and technology.
Said Professor Anne Gregory, Global Alliance Chair, “The Country Landscapes series is one of the Global Alliance’s most significant services to the international professional community and we know that they are very well used. This updated version of public relations in Sweden provides a very comprehensive overview on what is happening in the fast-moving Scandinavian environment. The editorial team, working with Sveriges Kommunikatörer, our member association in Sweden, have provided an authoritative and definitive source of information”.
”Working in communications in Sweden is very exciting. Swedish communicators have established their role in our organisations and we are moving towards our vision of the communicative organisation. Times are changing, and the possibilities are endless”, said Cecilia Shon Jansson, President of the Swedish Association for Communication Professionals.
Gregory expressed thanks to the authors of the report led by Dr. Judy VanSlyke Turk and to Dr. Juan-Carlos Molleda and his colleagues at the University of Florida for their leadership of the Global Alliance’s Landscapes project.
