Global Alliance welcomes Adele Paulsen, PRISA Executive Director, as a new Board Member

September 24, 2013

Lugano, Switzerland, September 24, 2013 – The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management (GA) welcomes Adele Paulsen, Executive Director at the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA), as a Regional Delegate on the Global Alliance’s Board of Directors for 2013/2014.

Following the Global Alliance’s Annual General Meeting in Helsinki, Adele Paulsen, Executive Director of the Public Relations Institute of South Africa (PRISA) has been elected to serve on the 2013/2014 Board as a Regional Delegate representing Africa and South Africa. Paulsen will also serve as a member of the Global Alliance’s Research and Education Committee.

Said Professor Anne Gregory, Chair of Global Alliance, “We are delighted to welcome Adele onto the Board. She is the Executive Director of one of our most active member Associations and brings with her a wealth of experience. In particular her knowledge of working in a dynamic and fast growing economy and her expertise about Africa will enhance the work of the Global Alliance there. Africa is a place of increasing opportunities for public relations and one of our priorities over the next two years is to work with our colleagues on that continent to ensure the Global Alliance can offer the support they need. Adele’s insight will be invaluable in shaping that support. “

With her 18 years of experience in the industry, Paulsen has been recognized for her outstanding contribution and commitment both to PRISA and the profession. "Being elected to serve on the Global Alliance Executive Board is a great honor that has been bestowed upon me and I am proud to represent South Africa as we undertake the first public relations and communication management practice global study of its kind. I plan to serve my term admirably and to add considerable value to the public relations profession, to the Global Alliance and to South Africa,” said Paulsen.

The Public Relations Institute of South Africa is a founding member of the Global and it has been an active player in all GA’s main initiatives. PRISA has proactively participated in the definition of the Stockholm Accords and the successful Melbourne Mandate and it will now become a pioneer in developing the first global GAP (Generally Accepted Practices) study in South Africa and Africa, together with a community of expert practitioners and key role players at the University of Pretoria.

Global Alliance Chair Anne Gregory expressed the Board’s gratitude to Professor Ronél Rensburg, the outgoing Regional Delegate for Africa and South Africa, for the high commitment she shown during her term of office.
