Institute for Public Relations President & CEO Frank Ovaitt First PR Professional to Receive Gerald Sass Distinguished Service Award

The Association of Schools of Journalism and Communication (ASJMC) announced Institute for Public Relations (IPR) President and CEO Frank Ovaitt the 2014 recipient of the Gerald Sass Distinguished Service Award, making him the first public relations professional to receive the honor presented since 1946.

 

Ovaitt will be recognized for his many years of service to IPR and for promoting a stronger relationship between the academy and the practice at the annual ASJMC conference in Montreal in August.

 

Past recipients include the New York Times, Washington Post, The Associated Press, Ben Bagdikian, Walter Cronkite, Bill Moyers, Randolph Hearst, and Al Neuharth just to name a few.
