Media Release: Global Alliance welcomes new members in four countries

March 24, 2010

The Albanian Institute of Public Relations and Portugal's Associacão Portuguesa de Comunicacão de Empresa join the Global Alliance as national association members. New affiliate members include the Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms and Harbour Club, the Switzerland-based association of chief communications officers.

"With the historic World Public Relations Forum just months away, there has never been a more exciting time to be part of the Global Alliance, as we enhance its value to public relations associations and professionals around the world," said John Paluszek, Chair of the Global Alliance. "We welcome these new associations warmly and look forward to working together in advocating for the global public relations profession."

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management (www.globalalliancepr.org) is the umbrella organisation linking more than 70 associations representing 160,000 public relations professionals around the world. The Global Alliance's mission is to unify the public relations profession, raise professional standards all over the world, share knowledge for the benefit of its members and be the global voice for public relations in the public interest.

The World Public Relations Forum (www.wprf2010.com) will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on June 14-15, 2010. In addition to compelling presentations from global public relations leaders, the conference will feature debate on the Stockholm Accords, a manifesto for practitioners and educators to affirm the growing value of public relations for organizational success in today's networked society.
