The PRISM Awards - the most sought-after awards in Africa's public relations industry to take place in April
Now in its 16th year, Africa’s annual PRISM Awards recognise excellence in the public relations and communication profession and are presented to public relations and communication professionals who have successfully incorporated innovation, creativity and professionalism into public relations and communication programmes and strategies to epitomise successful public relations campaigns.
With the high calibre of entries received from a number of business enterprises, associations, private institutions and government bodies alike, the competition for the coveted PRISM Awards is going to be fierce! Entries for the 2013 PRISM Awards have been submitted across the 37 categories in this year’s PRISM Awards, including the three new categories that has generated particular interest namely, ‘Communication Research’, ‘Digital Media Relations’ and ‘Integration of Traditional and New Media’.
Heading up the judging this year is a strong and impressive panel of 32 judges, including Global Alliance (GA) Chair, Daniel Tisch, who will assist in evaluating and assessing this year’s top public relations campaigns. The judges take a two-fold approach. One is to question thoroughly the results measured against objectives and the other is how well the project's goals and objectives were met. The judges aim to establish the output result that indicates the relative media success and, to the extent possible, also the outcomes-based result – in other words, what was actually achieved in real terms based on the initial goals and objectives.
Public relations campaigns entered in the PRISM Awards must exhibit a high standard of excellence in a variety of programme aspects. Specifically, each entry will be judged on the basis of its competence in five areas namely: Statement of problem/Opportunity, Research, Planning, Execution and Evaluation. Each section has equal points weighting.
The PRISM Awards function will be held at The Hilton Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Sunday 7 April 2013.
