Shanghai Leader Visits PRSA in New York

September 21, 2011

The recent meeting of Madame Qian Li, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Public Relations Association and William Murray, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Public Relations Society of America, at PRSA headquarters in New York resulted in a valuable exchange between the Global Alliance's newest member (SPRA) and one of its founding members (PRSA).

Madame Qian's "take away" from the visit:

"I learned many aspects of PRSA practices, especially their advanced experience in marketing, public relations, and education. SPRA would like to develop practical collaborations across all aspects. We will long value the interactions between our two organizations and we look forward to further communications with the GA and other connecting opportunities with other PR associations across the world."

In turn, a summary by Bill Murray, who is also Global Alliance Treasurer:

"Our visit together was an excellent opportunity for our two organizations to become officially reacquainted. The SPRA, as a relatively young organization, was interested in learning more about PRSA's Ethics Program as well as our governance and membership structure. We also discussed how SPRA members might be able to take advantage of the learning opportunities created by PRSA and will be exploring this subject further in the months ahead."
