Why – and how - the integrated reporting process is causing entire professions to change their ways was explained in detail at the annual SKOJ conference by former Global Alliance chair, Toni Muzi Falconi. Held at Terme Olivia in Slovenia in October 150 professionals heard a detailed update on the integrated reporting process project currently being run by the IIRC.

“The global integrated reporting movement - despite or because of the global recession - is accelerating and accountants, auditors, certifiers and standard setters have initiated an unprecedented and intense review process of the basics of their professions, training paths, approaches and methods of practice’, said Toni.

He added: “This because external pressures are pushing organizations to shift traditional periodic mostly printed and separate financial, environmental, governance and social reporting products towards a continued, multichannel, integrated reporting process. Public relators need to be quick to understand and competently contribute to guide the disruptive potential consequences of this shift on their own profession”.
