March 23, 2012

Recognized as two of the “Most Influential People in the World” by TIME Magazine, Biz Stone, Twitter co-founder, and Tim Westergren, Pandora founder and chief strategy officer, will deliver keynotes at the PRSA Conference in San Francisco this October.

Global business communication is drastically different from previous decades. The channels we use have shifted rapidly teaming digital and social media. The influence and implications of these channels are increasingly pervasive in public relations and corporate communications and will be debated in detail at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) 2012 International Conference, Oct. 13–16.

Biz Stone, who considers himself an “Internet entrepreneur,” started out as an early adopter of the early social Web in 1999, went to work for Google in 2003 and, in 2006, launched the online social network and microblogging service, Twitter, effectively providing a voice for a generation. In 2011, he co-founded The Obvious Corporation, which focuses on building systems that help people work together to improve the world. Stone will deliver the opening keynote presentation, “Open, Informed and Engaged: A Changing Communication Landscape.”

Pandora Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Westergren started the popular personalized radio service in 2000 with the Music Genome Project. In addition to guiding Pandora's overall strategy and vision, he now spends most of his time as Pandora’s chief evangelist, traveling the country to connect with some of the tens of millions of people who listen to Pandora. Westergren also is an award-winning composer and accomplished musician with 20 years of experience in the music industry, spanning production, audio engineering, film scoring and live performance.
