The WPRF2014 will deconstruct, transform and lead communication

January 15, 2014

The initial programme with the topics to be discussed during the World Public Relations Forum 2014 is now available at www.worldprforum.com

Madrid, 15 January 2014. The World Public Relations Forum, organised by Dircom, in partnership with Global Alliance, from 21 - 23 September 2014 in Madrid, has posted the programme on its website, showing the main topics for discussion during plenary and parallel sessions, which revolve around the conference theme of “Communication with conscience”.

The Convention Centre, Palacio Municipal de Congresos, will host the 8th World Public Relations Forum which will debate the future of public relations and communications. The Forum, which promises to be the largest international gathering of communication professionals, will focus on 4 key topics:

  • Deconstructing communication
  • Transforming communication
  • Leading through communication
  • Taking action through communication with conscience.

It will kick off by reviewing the changes that the profession needs to implement in order to introduce a new communication approach in organisations, based on character and values, the culture of listening and understanding responsibility. Deconstructing communication involves analysing organisations inside out and vice versa, seeking to humanise the process and working towards communication to create a better world.

Next, delegates will reflect on how to transform the profession, aligned with the changes experienced by organisations, with communication at the heart of strategy. Communicating with conscience means communicating in a conscious way and this will be analysed in various different parallel sessions from the point of view of disciplines such as reputation, brand, CSR, internal communication, crisis management, measurement, social media, etc.

The second session of the forum will start by reviewing leadership and examining how the best leaders understand the power of communication and the responsibility entailed in using it wisely and ethically.  For this purpose, tools and strategies that help communicators to lead effectively will be explored at several parallel sessions.

Finally, the conference will propose taking action through communication with conscience at parallel sessions where this concept will be analysed from the standpoint of transparency, democratisation, co-creation, collaborative economy and social business.  The new trend of Digital Speed Networking will also be discussed.

Over the  two  days, delegates will have the opportunity to gain intercultural insights and take part in debates with professionals from all over the world. Over 1,000 experts from the communication industry from many different countries are expected to attend. It is the first time ever that the conference will be hosted in a Spanish-speaking country and the Honorary Committee will be presided over by HRH, The Prince of Asturias.
