Prof. Justin Green, President & CEO of the Global Alliance, was awarded with the prestigious Life Fellowship during the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA)’s 67th National Annual General Meeting earlier this month. This award recognizes Prof. Green's outstanding contributions to the field of public relations on a global scale. His leadership at the Global Alliance has been instrumental in advancing the profession and fostering international collaboration among communication professionals.

The world must respond to the harm caused by the spread of online hate and lies while robustly upholding human rights,” said the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on 24th June 2024.

“The United Nations Global Principles for Information Integrity aim to empower people to demand their rights. At a time when billions of people are exposed to false narratives, distortions and lies, these principles lay out a clear path forward, firmly rooted in human rights, including the rights to freedom of expression and opinion.”

The principles provide a framework for coordinated international action to make information spaces safer and more humane, something the UN sees as one of the most urgent tasks of our time.

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, has inducted its 605 new Associate Members. The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management 22nd Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 25th May in Lima, Peru. Global Alliance President Justin Green presented the 2023 Annual Report, which provided an overview of the key activities and initiatives conducted by the Global Alliance in 2023. Membership currently stands at 86 members.

In an enlightening exchange of ideas and insights, the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management Board met with the students of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Chapter at Universidad de San Martín de Porres (USMP) in Peru. The event, held on May 23, 2024, served as a vibrant platform for discussing the latest trends and future directions in public relations and communications.
