BARCELONA PRINCIPLES
The development and the detailed changes

The Barcelona Principles is a set of seven principles that provide the first overarching framework for effective public relations (PR) and communication measurement.

The principles were originally adopted by about 200 delegates from over 30 countries at the 2nd Annual European Summit on Measurement in Barcelona, Spain in 2010, convened by the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC).

The principles were developed with, and supported by AMEC, the Global Alliance, the Institute for Public Relations, the International Communications Consultancy Organization, the Public Relations Consultants Association, and the Public Relations Society of America.
