Diversity, Equality, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Policy Framework 2025
The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management has officially launched its first Global Diversity, Equality, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Policy Framework 2025 — marking a pivotal step toward shaping a more inclusive and equitable profession worldwide.
This Framework sets out a clear, practical, and values-based standard that all Global Alliance members can align with or adapt to their unique national, legal, and cultural settings. It is built on the principles of universal human rights, grounded in our shared professional values, and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Global Digital Compact.
At its core, the Framework recognises the transformative power of diversity, the necessity of equality and equity, and the importance of inclusive practices in every part of our professional and organisational lives.
“At the heart of our profession is a commitment to act as ethical advisers who serve responsibly and help shape a more equal, diverse and inclusive world.”
– Professor Justin Green, President & Chief Executive, Global Alliance
What the Framework Offers
· Five Guiding Principles
Collaboration for inclusion · Equality and equity for professionalism · Accountability through integrity · Innovation with intersectionality · Dialogue that fosters belonging
· Adaptable Global Standard
Designed to respect and respond to different legal, social, and cultural realities while upholding a unified commitment to fairness and dignity for all.
· Action-Oriented Tools
Practical resources, templates, training modules and performance metrics to support both seasoned DEI leaders and those starting the journey.
· Focus on Accountability
A new Global DEI Advisory Committee will oversee implementation, support capacity-building, and track progress through transparent reporting and member engagement.
“This Framework provides a benchmark that members can align with or adapt. Our focus now is on accountability—ensuring DEI commitments lead to measurable action.”
– Jennifer Muir, Chair, Global Alliance DEI Advisory Committee
Why It Matters
Public relations and communication professionals influence the narratives that shape society. This Framework helps ensure that influence is used responsibly—to uplift underrepresented voices, challenge systemic inequalities, and foster environments where everyone can thrive.
The benefits are clear: stronger economies, more resilient organisations, greater innovation, improved trust, and a profession better equipped to meet the challenges of our time.
