Every October we celebrate Diversity & Inclusion Month, but this year’s observance takes on extra significance and sense of purpose in light of recent events unfolding across the country and throughout the world.
Team well-being, a trigger for commitment and performance
"An employee joins a company and leaves a manager". We often hear this phrase, which I find very accurate. To make it positive, we could also say "an efficient manager keeps the employee engaged and can compensate for certain weaknesses inherent in most organizations" because he knows how to maintain a certain level of well-being in the team. In my opinion, this well-being is the responsibility of the manager.
It is always about ethics - even more with AI
Two Global Alliance founding members, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in the UK (CIPR) and the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) have joined forces under the auspices of the #AIinPR panel to prepare public relations professionals in understanding ethical dilemmas in deploying artificial intelligence (AI). The CPRS recently became a partner in the AIinPR panel because of the importance of this issue in the practice of public relations.
True leaders embrace diversity and inclusion
Diversity, the richness of Collective Intelligence. A managerial point of view
This is Diversity and Inclusion Month for the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications Management. It is an opportunity for me, as a manager, to reflect on the importance of diversity as a basis for collective intelligence for greater performance and efficiency. Diversity is a source of richness for a team; it must be encouraged to perform better together and multiply results. Here is my feedback on 6 dimensions of diversity which are important to me from a managerial point of view.
CHINA´S PR INDUSTRY RECOVERY IN POST-CORONAVIRUS ENVIRONMENT
As the first country to be engulfed in the COVID-19 pandemic, China is ahead of many other countries on the "curve"of the virus progression. China has kept incremental cases at extremely low level, and government and people are working hard on restarting economy. While they realize it is going to be tough, there is a general sense among the population that China will be able to manage the adaptation process more effectively than most governments around the world.
A message from PRSA President Garland Stansell, APR
Dear Members:
My heart breaks for our country due to the current gut-wrenching circumstances playing out across the United States. I grieve the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery. I pray for peace, comfort and healing for their families and friends. However, I feel deep within myself that is not enough.
Diversity and Inclusion Month, June 2020: Globally Advocating for Equality in PR and Communications
While the world has been united under COVID-19, the pandemic has further spotlighted the work that remains to be done to give parity to gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation in our homes and our workplaces. Global Diversity and Inclusion Month aims to reignite that effort by bringing worldwide attention to the great work each Global Alliance member is doing to advocate for equality in your own countries. As part of the global campaign, we will be showcasing our members’ activities for the month, along with the great work on D&I you have already done.

Global Alliance Covid-19 Task Force Enhanced Response Support Measures For Members & Our Profession’s Contribution
Dear Colleagues,
How so much can change in such a short space of time.
Last November when we originally announced details of the Global Alliance ‘April Education & Training Month’, little did we know the road that lay ahead. Indeed, it was as recent as the start of March that we sent a global call of support and encouragement for the professions contribution to Covid-19.
A message from your President re: coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Global Alliance response and our profession’s contribution
THE VALUE OF HUMANISM IN HIGHER EDUCATION
During the World Academic Summit at the Federal Polytechnic School of Zurich (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule, ETH Zürich), it has been possible to extract a series of assessments that are presented below. The letmotiv of this academic summit was the debate on how talent is generated and its intrinsic purpose to introduce humanistic values into the academy.
Global Ethics Month - An Inspirational Letter From Our Chinese Colleagues
Dear President Justin Green and all our Global Alliance colleagues around the world,
PRGC (17PR) always consider Ethics to be the most important base of our Public Relations profession. Hence we are delighted to be part of the first ever Global Alliance world “Ethics Month” initiative.
With consideration about the Lunar New Year vacation and the epidemic of COVID-19, we have to do everything online, so we have launched two very successful events.
PRSA Teams with Global Alliance in Support of Global Ethics Month – February 2020
In an age of disinformation and misinformation, the practice of ethical public relations has never been more critical worldwide. Edelman and the domino effect
More than 50 Public Relations associations, academics, organisations and training bodies around the world are celebrating Ethics Month following the initiative of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management. Ethics has always been the set of principles that should guide the behaviour of communication professionals. Today it is even more so because of the abundance of lies that threaten the reign of truth.
The idea of total transparency in society clashes with the most virtuous meaning of the word trust
A striking feature of the early decades of the 21st century was an obsessive need for transparency. In the beginning of this century, a bestseller by Dan Tapscott and David Ticoll titled The Naked Corporation (2003) stated that transparency would ultimately revolutionize all aspects of the economy and markets. They claimed that companies and organizations should begin to rethink their core values. Furthermore, they believed that all of us, men and women, should be prepared to be naked 24 hours a day. Of course, the phrase “being naked” the authors used is an ethical metaphor rather than a physical one. In fact, it was certainly a shrewd metaphor: if we are to be naked, they suggested, then it is better to be fit.
