Global Ethics Month - An Inspirational Letter From Our Chinese Colleagues
24th February 2020
Dear President Justin Green and all our Global Alliance colleagues around the world,
PRGC (17PR) always consider Ethics to be the most important base of our Public Relations profession. Hence we are delighted to be part of the first ever Global Alliance world “Ethics Month” initiative.
With consideration about the Lunar New Year vacation and the epidemic of COVID-19, we have to do everything online, so we have launched two very successful events.
Our first activity, we issued a major survey for all our member companies to investigate the relationship between employers and employees. We also integrated several questions about the applicants’ opinion regarding Professions Ethics.
Over 86% of them believe ethics is critical to the future of the profession and are willing to accept and embrace more events, education and training programmes.
Secondly, we organised three private and public online discussions, and discussed much about the Ethics in the PR profession. Members including representatives from PR agencies claimed that Ethic is part of their core value and willing to improve it by communicating with other domestic member agencies and globally with PRGC working in partnership with the Global Alliance leading this initiative. Students who study PR and communications, stated, they made for further understanding of the importance of ethics and willing to participate in more activities about PR ethic in the future. Thanks to Global Alliance for taking this great worldwide initiative and leading the public relations profession globally.
Besides, during this particularly difficult time, we also supplied some personal protection equipment to our members, to let them feel our care and goodwill for their health.
Kind regards,
Richard Wang
