What is DE and how can it be used when engaging SMEs?
Gertrud Latif Knudsen is research associate at the Centre for Corporate Communication at Aarhus University, Denmark. She has been working on the Danish case studies involving intermediaries and SMEs with DE. Her research field is based within stakeholder management and organizational identity which was also the subject of her recent PhD. Prior to returning to academia, Gertrud worked as a consultant doing strategic planning and qualitative research for the advertising industry in Denmark.
Edward Andersson is European Associate for Involve UK has spent over a decade studying cutting edge methods of participatory decision making. He helped to set up set up Participationcompass.org - one of Europe's leading public engagement sites, and has advised a number of organisations on public engagement strategies, including the UK Government, the European Commission, the OECD, WHO Europe and numerous Local Authorities. Edward is based in Malmö Sweden and works extensively across Europe.
Luca Brusati is Associate Professor of Management and Scientific Coordinator of Udine University's Laboratory for Research in Economics and Management (LAREM), as well as an international consultant with first-hand experience in 30+ countries on four continents. On top of publishing a broad range of academic contributions on the engagement of stakeholders in decision-making, he worked on the same topic for the European Commission, UNAIDS, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria and Italian local authorities.
Clive Mitchell is acting Deputy Director at Involve in the UK. Involve is one of the UK's leading group of experts in citizen participation and strengthening democratic governance. Clive has a background in local government and environmental health, and latterly has managed one of Involve's major programmes on citizen participation in health services - the innovative NHS Citizen programme. Clive has been responsible for supporting the case studies on this SME project and delivering content for the project's legacy publications.
