The 2022 Edelman Trust Barometer reveals that business holds onto its position as the most trusted institution, with even greater expectations due to government’s failure to lead during the pandemic. By an average of five-to-one margin, respondents in the 28 countries surveyed want business to play a larger role on climate change, economic inequality, workforce reskilling and addressing racial injustice. All stakeholders want business to fill the void, with nearly 60 percent of consumers buying brands based on their values and beliefs, almost 6 in 10 employees choose a workplace based on shared values and expect their CEO to take a stand on societal issues, and 64 percent of investors looking to back businesses aligned with their values.

A tribute to Colin Farrington
The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) are deeply saddened to hear of the death on Friday 17 December of Colin Farrington, who served as Global Alliance’s Chair from 2007 to 2009 and Director General first of the IPR and then of the CIPR from 1998 to 2010.
Irish global PR Justin Green PRII recognised as first ever ARPPR Honorary Life Fellow
The Puerto Rico Public Relations Professionals Association (ARPPR acronym in Spanish) Board of Directors have approved to recognise Global Alliance president & CEO Justin Green PRII, as Honorary Life Fellow.
In relation to this special distinction, Jose Báez, ARPPR President, said “Justin has done an outstanding work to promote and elevate our profession globally, while also supporting the ARPPR educational role, as a Global Alliance member. His leadership and inclusive vision, not only deserves our respect but our recognition as the ARPPR first ever Honorary Life Fellow”.
