IMPACT - World Youth PR & Communications Convention starts on 25 November 2021
From November 29 to December 3, the confederation of the world's major PR and communication associations, the Global Alliance, will hold IMPACT: The Global Youth Public Relations & Communications Convention as part of its Youth and Young Practitioners Month.
This is the first-ever online international convention that will engage both the professional and academic sectors in the PR and communications industry to foster effective collaboration and transfer of knowledge.
The goal is to equip PR & communications students with the knowledge and tools that will aid them in navigating the industry, and for young PR & communications practitioners to better adapt to emerging trends and new realities in their profession.
A GATHERING OF PR PRACTITIONERS AND STUDENTS
This globally attended event will gather thought leaders who will tackle diverse PR & communications topics. Discussions will benefit many professionals and aspiring practitioners from North America to Asia, the Middle East to Latin America, and Africa to Europe.
“We hope not only to give the students and young practitioners access to activities that will expand their knowledge and their networks”, says Justin Green, Chief Executive Officer of Global Alliance, “but (to) also help them develop a greater appreciation of the profession and a deeper understanding of the important role that they will play once they join the industry”, he continues.
With attendees coming from different parts of the world, this interactive convention is made time zone-friendly. The participants will be able to take part in a mix of synchronous and asynchronous activities such as pre-recorded webinars and live Q&A sessions.
Insights from different public relations speakers and thought-leaders from every continent around the world will give every participant a globally relevant understanding of different PR and communications practices and insights.
PUBLIC RELATIONS AND ITS IMPACT
The PR industry impacts different sectors of society on a local and global scale.
“IMPACT” is highlighted as the main theme for the Global Youth Public Relations Convention. The IM from IMPACT asserts the crucial role of every PR & communications student and young professional in delivering PR efficiently, effectively, and with impact. Each PR & communications professional should use his or her influence and knowledge for the good of society.
All of this is sealed in a PACT, where PR & communications pros help usher their countries to the unconventional new normal. Professionals and students alike must strive to create meaningful partnerships to influence and affect change for good.
MAKING AN IMPACT THROUGH PR & COMMUNICATIONS
Participants from both the academic and professional fields will find a topic that is relevant to their situations.
“With the goal of having IMPACT in the international Public Relations & Communications arena, the event is the first of its kind and is set to encourage collaboration in learning both theory and practice to elevate the industry’s contributions to society”, says Ana Pista, Global Alliance’s Director for Communications, Content & Digital and Chairperson of the Student and Young Practitioners Month.
The topics for the convention include Humanizing PR & Communications in the Era of Artificial Intelligence, PR & Communications for Everyone: Pushing For A Diverse & Inclusive Workplace, What's The Plan?: Understanding Crisis Communications, Top PR & Communications Skills To Have in 2022, Putting the Spotlight on Mental Health: Driving Conversations through PR and Communication, Brand Storytelling For Beginners, and lastly, Captains of the Ship: Leadership As A Tool To Excel in the PR & Communications Industry.
