March 2022: Trends and Communication Transformation Month -
Worldwide reflections on PR trends
Global Trends and Communication Transformations Month in March 2022 is an ambitious project. It will be the first time the world’s leading public relations network of 320,000 professionals from all continents will reflect on the trends to transform our industry globally and shake our old ways of working and thinking.
Organised by the European Regional Council (ERC), which is chaired by Silvia Arto, Vice President of the Global Alliance, three key events inform the month. The first is a survey, which is being sent to all Global Alliance members throughout the world; the second is a webinar to compare European trends; the third a webinar to discover how and if global trends differ from those in Europe.
In addition throughout the whole month Global Alliance members will be encouraged to contribute their thoughts, research and best practice examples on this subject to make sure their voice is heard globally. They can do so by taking part in the survey, by attending the webinars and by contributing their reflections on the shape of our profession in the coming years.
The two webinars in March will be based on the results of the worldwide survey being issued to member associations. The first webinar is on 10 March 2022 at 17.30hrs CET when leading PR experts will discuss the findings from the European area. The event will be moderated by Biagio Oppi, from Ferpi, Italy and hosted by Silvia Arto as chairwoman of the ERC. Speakers include:

What then are some of these changes? Digital transformation, decline of trust towards institutions and media, the emergence of new social networks, technological impact on our profession, the long lasting impact of Covid not only on our practices but also on the expectations of our publics, sustainability considerations and the urgent need for action on climate change… all these call for new skills and new approaches. But it is not enough to foresee the changes, which affect us. We must also provide practical solutions to the challenges ahead. PR and communications are central to our organisations’ strategic impacts but we also have a responsibility towards our partners and our publics. We can lead by example, influence behaviour and spearhead transformation.
In order to have a clear view of the challenges worldwide, the ERC of the Global Alliance has called for professional contributions from all Global Alliance members on the topic in all formats, through papers, podcasts, videos and events. Tell us what affects your work in your country, how AI will impact the profession, what is the future of ESG?
All Global Alliance members are encouraged to participate and share contributions to the Trends and Transformations Month 2022 to make this a true global reflection for PR and communication professionals around the world. To join the conversation on social media the hashtag is #PRTrends2022
