Niamh Ward was elected as a Life Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII) at the PRII Annual General Meeting

A formal presentation was made to Niamh by the President of the PRII, David Geary, at a special event last week at the Irish Architectural Archive, Dublin.

In her acceptance speech, Niamh spoke about her career in Public Relations Education. She reflected on her deep association with the Institute for over 30 years and nominators, Justin Green, FPRII (Life), President & CEO of Global Alliance, and Niamh O'Carroll, FPRII spoke of her contribution in developing the PRII Diploma and to launching hundreds of PR careers.

Life Fellowship is the highest honour that the PRII can bestow on a member of the Institute. No more than two Life Fellowships can be awarded in any year, and the nominees must be approved by two-thirds of those present at the AGM of the Institute.

Niamh joins a list of 33 Life Fellows in the seventy-year history of the Institute.

Niamh Ward has contributed to the PRII and the public relations sector in Ireland for over thirty years, mainly in education. She worked as Director of the Diploma in Public Relations, at Rathmines College of Further Education for over twenty years, teaching PR, media analysis and communications. She is a long-standing member of the PRII and a Fellow of the PRII for over fifteen years. She has also served for a number of years on the PRII National Council.

Today she is a Principal at the Crumlin College of Further Education.
