Health & Wellbeing Month 2026 - Supporting healthier professional workplaces, together

Health & Wellbeing Month 2026

Supporting healthier professional workplaces, together

Each January, the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management brings the global public relations and communication profession together to focus on mental health and wellbeing at work.

Health & Wellbeing Month 2026 recognises that wellbeing is shaped by workplace culture, leadership behaviours, and professional expectations, not individual resilience alone.

Why This Matters

Public relations and communication professionals often work in high-pressure environments where stress, burnout and poor mental health are widespread and too often normalised.

Health & Wellbeing Month exists to:

  • Reduce stigma around mental health at work

  • Strengthen understanding of workplace responsibility

  • Encourage safer, more inclusive professional environments

  • Support sustainable careers across regions and cultures

By coming together globally, we move from silence to shared understanding, and from awareness to action.

Our Focus for 2026

Health & Wellbeing Month 2026 centres on two connected elements designed to build understanding, capability and change.

Regional Council Webinars: Lived Experience and Workplace Practice

Throughout January, Global Alliance Regional Councils will host region-led online discussions focused on mental health and wellbeing in professional workplaces.

These conversations combine:

  • Lived experience, shared safely and respectfully

  • Expert insight, including workplace mental health and employment law

  • Regional context, reflecting cultural and legal differences

Hearing lived experience helps reduce stigma, adds real-world context, and challenges workplace practices and beliefs that allow poor mental health to persist.

WHO QualityRights: A Human Rights Approach to Mental Health

Mental health is a human right — including at work.

As part of Health & Wellbeing Month, the Global Alliance promotes free, globally recognised training through the World Health Organization QualityRights initiative.

This training supports professionals and organisations to:

  • Reduce stigma and discrimination

  • Strengthen inclusive workplace practices

  • Build confidence to support mental health responsibly

The training is accessible, practical, and available in multiple languages: https://www.globalalliancepr.org/global-alliance-who-qualityrights-initiative-collaboration

Global Context

In December 2025, world leaders adopted a United Nations global declaration on noncommunicable diseases and mental health, setting ambitious goals to improve mental health outcomes by 2030.

Through Health & Wellbeing Month, the Global Alliance supports this ambition by encouraging stigma reduction, rights-based approaches, and healthier workplace cultures across the profession.
