Extension of the hugely successful free Education and Training Month

From April into May supporting our global profession during Covid-19

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management announces the extension of its successful free Education and Training Month from April into May following the phenomenal response from members. This is to fulfill the original aim of the month and ensure that PR professionals around the world have an opportunity to continue their learning and development at a time when normal training has been severely disrupted by COVID-19.

‘Reaction in the first couple of weeks has been tremendous, with hundreds of people registering for our initial sessions’ says Global Alliance Education & Training Director Marcia DiStaso. ‘It is clear that the impact of COVID-19 will not be over on 30 April - indeed in some countries the pandemic will only really be getting underway.  I’m very pleased that all of the 280,000 practitioners and academics who belong to Global Alliance member associations can now continue to benefit from this free initiative through the month of May as well.’

Education and Training Month activities, identified with the hashtag #GAETM on twitter, are the world’s largest-scale offering of free learning to the PR community.  With the extension into May, the original 30 webinars will be expanded to 50, all linked to the Global Alliance website.

Education and Training month includes contributions from Brazil, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, Peru, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the UK and the United States. Details of forthcoming sessions can be found on twitter by following @Global_Alliance.
