Following the phenomenal success of a series of initiatives held by Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management supporting our global profession during Covid-19, we take the opportunity to announce the Mental Health & Wellbeing Month this September 2020. Starting past February with Global Ethics Month that advocated to raise the awareness of ethics in business, March and April with Global Education & Training Month that turned out to be the only Public Relations Association that offered more than 50 free webinars to the global PR Community.

Global Communication Report Finds New Activists Are Younger, More Diverse, More Collaborative and More Likely to Vote Than Protest

The fifth annual Global Communication Report, New Activism, the report from the USC Annenberg Center for Public Relations in partnership with Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management and other Public Relations organisations examines the evolution of activism and its impact on PR. It finds the new generation of activists are younger, more diverse, and more collaborative. They also prefer voting over protesting. Communicators believe that, due to decreasing trust in Government, activism will grow in influence over the next five years, and that “average citizens” will be one of the most influential types of activist. The study also found that what it calls “New Activists” are aligned with PR professionals in the belief that the best strategy for creating long-lasting change is not protesting but voting.

Dublin, Ireland, April 19 2020 - The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management 18th Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday 19 April remotely due to Covid-19 restrictions regarding travel and public gatherings. A candle was lit by the President in solidarity with all those who have lost their lives globally to Covid-19, in support of our frontline workers and colleagues who are directly involved in the battle against the pandemic.
